Integration Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the technical onboarding process for lending partners, overseeing everything from requirements gathering and data mapping to testing, production launch, and initial post-launch support.

• Set up and provide support for integrations utilizing Workato, REST APIs, SFTP, and established core banking connector frameworks.

• Collaborate directly with lender technology, operations, accounting, and implementation teams to grasp requirements, resolve technical challenges, and ensure launch readiness.

• Execute and validate comprehensive workflows, including member and account creation, loan boarding, funding-related processes, document transfers, and downstream data updates.

• Diagnose production and implementation issues across APIs, data mappings, middleware, core banking platforms, and lender environments.

• Enhance integration scalability by refining Workato workflows, bolstering production support processes, and converting repeatable implementation tasks into standardized processes, templates, and automation.

• Facilitate the adoption of Upstart’s existing core banking and API integrations by managing the technical onboarding of banks and credit unions.

• Collect requirements, configure integrations, map data, establish connectivity, test end-to-end workflows, troubleshoot issues, and support successful production launches.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in integration engineering, solutions engineering, technical implementation, solutions architecture, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.

• Practical experience in implementing and troubleshooting REST API integrations, including JSON, authentication, data mapping, error handling, and API testing.

• Familiarity with systems integration, middleware, iPaaS platforms, or API-based implementations.

• Proficient in gathering technical requirements and converting business workflows into integration specifications.

• Experience working directly with external customers or partners, independently driving technical issues toward resolution.

• Preferred: Hands-on experience with Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, Tray.io, or another integration platform; direct experience in Workato recipe development is especially valued.

• Preferred: Understanding of banking, lending, fintech, or financial services integration workflows.

• Preferred: Knowledge of core banking platforms such as Jack Henry Symitar, Fiserv DNA, Corelation Keystone, Fiserv Premier, FIS, or similar systems.

• Preferred: Experience with SFTP, PGP encryption, NACHA files, loan boarding, account creation, or other banking integration workflows.

• Preferred: Experience utilizing Postman, SQL, or similar tools for API testing, data validation, and integration troubleshooting.

• Preferred: Background in supporting production integrations, go-live activities, monitoring, incident resolution, and post-production support.
