Integration Developer – Apache, Kafka

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and execute enterprise integration solutions utilizing Apache Camel, which may include Camel K, Camel Quarkus, or Camel Spring Boot.

• Design and oversee Apache Kafka event streaming solutions, focusing on topic design, producer and consumer development, stream processing, and schema management with Apicurio Registry.

• Develop, manage, and expose APIs using Red Hat 3scale API Management.

• Deploy, configure, and provide support for integrations operating on Red Hat OpenShift.

• Manage and optimize Red Hat AMQ Streams and messaging platforms.

• Integrate enterprise applications and services through REST APIs, SOAP services, databases, AMQ Broker/ActiveMQ Artemis, and various SaaS platforms.

• Create and sustain automated testing, integration validation, and CI/CD processes utilizing OpenShift Pipelines (Tekton), Jenkins, and Git-based workflows.

• Monitor the health, performance, and reliability of integrations using Prometheus, Grafana, Hawtio, and other monitoring tools.

• Carry out data transformation and mapping utilizing JSON, XML, Avro, and XSLT.

• Work collaboratively with Architecture, DevOps, and development teams to ensure solutions adhere to enterprise standards, security requirements, and operational goals.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, conduct code reviews, produce technical documentation, and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Integration Development, Middleware Engineering, or a related field.

• Practical experience in developing integration solutions with Apache Camel, including implementations of Camel K, Camel Quarkus, or Spring Boot.

• Comprehensive understanding of Apache Kafka, encompassing producers, consumers, event streaming, Kafka Streams, and schema-based messaging.

• Familiarity with Red Hat Integration technologies, such as AMQ Streams, Red Hat Fuse, or Camel-based solutions deployed on OpenShift.

• Proficient in Java and/or Kotlin.

• Experience with Python is considered a plus.

• Knowledge of designing and consuming REST and SOAP web services, including OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.

• Strong grasp of JSON, XML, and Avro formats.

• Experience with deploying and supporting containerized workloads using Red Hat OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with Git-based development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies.

• Security Clearance: Secret or higher is mandatory at the time of application.
