Intake Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary contact for potential clients within the Immigration practice.

• Oversee the legal strategy of the Business Development team to ensure that intake information and retainer agreements adhere to firm protocols.

• Perform strategic legal consultations and case evaluations in person, through virtual platforms, or via telephone.

• Provide guidance on immigration options, including removal defense and family-based petitions.

• Evaluate consultations, intake forms, and supporting documents to determine case viability.

• Analyze eligibility and suggest suitable legal pathways.

• Relay case details and recommendations to Case Consultants.

• Clearly explain complex immigration concepts and feasible legal strategies.

• Examine immigration filings and application packets for precision and legal adequacy.

• Formulate case strategy and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS interviews.

• Conduct legal research and case analysis to uncover benefits, relief options, and risks.

• Draft, review, and submit legal briefs concerning immigration matters.

• Collaborate with the training team to improve legal and subject matter training content.

• Work with leadership to enhance processes, client experiences, and operational efficiency.

• Operate without a caseload.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree.

• Active bar license in good standing.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Immigration Law, including litigation.

• Familiarity with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR removal defense, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.

• Previous experience in criminal law is an advantage.

• Proficient in conducting legal consultations, intake reviews, or case evaluations.

• Strong skills in legal analysis, issue identification, and decision-making.

• Competency with CRM, case management software (CLIO), and virtual communication tools.

• Excellent client focus and interpersonal abilities.

• Experience in a KPI-driven environment.

• Demonstrated capacity to contribute to revenue growth.

• Supervisory experience is preferred.
