Insurance Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Gather, prepare, and analyze essential performance indicators through collaboration with insurers, especially focusing on premiums, brokerage commissions, and remuneration models.

• Evaluate key metrics for LBU and its associated insurance broker firms, concentrating on revenue, commissions, costs, and profits.

• Create budget-versus-actual comparisons, forecasts, and scenario analyses.

• Collect, validate, and consolidate data from various organizations and systems.

• Develop and enhance management reports, dashboards, and analytical tools.

• Facilitate negotiations with insurers.

• Identify trends, variances, opportunities, and risks, and provide specific action recommendations.

• Assist in budgeting, corporate planning, and performance evaluations.

• Advance and standardize KPI, reporting, and analysis processes.

• Collaborate with management teams, Finance/Controlling, and affiliated broker firms.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Controlling, Business Informatics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

• Around 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in roles such as Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, Controller, FP&A Analyst, or similar positions.

• Initial exposure to planning, forecasting, budgeting, and budget-versus-actual analyses.

• A solid understanding of the interconnections between the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.

• Proficient Excel skills.

• Experience with Power BI or similar BI and reporting tools is advantageous.

• Strong numerical skills with an analytical, structured, and detail-oriented work approach.

• Capability to present complex relationships clearly and formulate actionable recommendations.

• Excellent communication skills, initiative, and a passion for collaborating with various departments.

• Knowledge of the insurance or insurance brokerage sector is a plus.

• Responsible management of confidential corporate and financial information.

• Proficiency in German at C1 level.

• English language skills are an asset.
