Instructional Systems Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Collaborate as a member of a team under the guidance of a Program Manager.

• Develop instructional materials for tailored training courses.

• Evaluate learning needs in order to design, develop, deliver, and assess employee courses and instructional packages.

• Create new training programs and revise existing curricula.

• Ensure that training initiatives comply with instructional systems design standards and principles.

• Partner with program offices to confirm that training needs and requirements are met.

• Offer consultation and execute instructional design tasks.

• Analyze the organization's current and future learning requirements and objectives.

• Formulate a comprehensive strategic and tactical project plan for the Full Lifecycle of Training Support within the agency.

• Engage in product development and review to ensure compliance with style and storyboard guidelines, writing standards, course/task flow, SCORM conformance, and Section 508 adherence.

• Produce clear and concise linear and non-linear storyboards for programmers/online developers, incorporating graphics concepts, audio scripts, user interactions, navigation, and related elements.

• Utilize AI to enhance the efficiency of the training development process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.

• Exceptional command of the English language, with the ability to read, understand, and effectively communicate information and ideas.

• Proficient in word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Holds a Master's Degree.

• Understanding of human-computer interaction and performance-centered design.

• Capability to apply instructional design principles within gaming and simulation settings.

• Experience with at least one rapid development tool, such as Articulate Storyline or Articulate Rise.

• In-depth knowledge of Section 508 standards as they relate to course design and development.

• Background in developing video/motion-graphic storyboards.

• Familiarity with design production tools, including Adobe Creative Suite.

• Knowledgeable about Communities of Practice and utilize social networking and online collaboration tools for learning.

• Experience working with Federal clients, particularly the FDA.

• Previous experience in consulting firm environments.
