Instructional Designer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Assess new and third-party curricula for inclusion in the catalog

• Examine accuracy, relevance, instructional effectiveness, consistency, accessibility, and alignment with competencies

• Correctly implement content within the LMS and product platforms

• Maintain and revise curriculum throughout the product lifecycle based on evaluations and learner requirements

• Customize, adapt, or create PreK–12 print, digital, and blended curricula

• Utilize instructional design frameworks such as backward design and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

• Create and review formative and summative assessment items that align with learning objectives

• Employ e-learning authoring tools to develop or modify visual, audio, and interactive educational materials

• Conduct research on content, instruction, and market trends

• Document instructional design choices, specifications, revisions, and content needs

• Perform additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related combination of education and experience

• At least two years of direct experience in instructional design or learning development

• Familiarity with learning management systems and product development

• Strong analytical abilities and a capacity to simplify complex issues

• Excellent editorial skills

• Effective written and verbal communication

• Ability to work collaboratively with curriculum and product teams

• Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools and Microsoft 365/Microsoft Suite

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities

• Experience in crafting formative and summative assessment items is preferred

• Knowledge of or experience in the homeschool education market is a plus
