Instructional Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee SCOPE courses as directed by the Lead Instructional Designer.

• Partner with course developers to create SCOPE course offerings in accordance with course development and revision contract specifications.

• Assess content to ensure alignment with course learning objectives.

• Make course development choices based on best practices to deliver a high-quality online learning experience framed by a biblical worldview.

• Implement teaching and learning principles in materials, lesson pages, discussions, learning activities, and assessments tailored for the online platform.

• Upload course content, images, and recordings to the BJUOnline LMS.

• Appropriately utilize AI tools for course design, drafting, content review, and the creation of instructional assets.

• Prepare, proofread, edit, and format course materials in accordance with educational standards.

• Ensure compliance with ADA regulations and proper MLA, APA, and Turabian research documentation.

• Edit and caption videos.

• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Lead Instructional Designer.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capacity to learn and implement new technologies.

• Openness to learn and utilize AI tools in instructional design, exercising sound judgment regarding their appropriate and ethical application.

• Background in liberal arts or a broad understanding of various academic disciplines.

• Preferred experience or background in education.

• Familiarity with a Learning Management System, with preference for Canvas.

• Experience in video management, lecture capture, and authoring software.

• Must be a born-again Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

• Must affirm and agree with the Bob Jones University creed, mission, and core biblical doctrines.

• Must maintain a conservative lifestyle and support Bob Jones University’s positions on beverage alcohol, addictive substances, creation, marriage and human sexuality, and the sanctity of life.

• Must be an active member of a local Bible-believing church that adheres to orthodox theology.
