This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Deliver customer assistance through on-site installations of Trimble hardware, including Base kits for Machine Control.
• Precisely assess machine control systems on OEM (Trimble Earthworks) dealer machines and customer construction equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair on-machine control systems.
• Install SITECH / Trimble equipment across OEMs, OEM dealers, and customers on dozers, excavators, graders, pavers, and compactors.
• Provide maintenance, support call-outs, telephone support, troubleshooting, and technical assistance for SITECH / Trimble equipment.
• Calibrate and re-calibrate SITECH / Trimble machine control equipment during field installations, rentals, or support activities.
• Assist the Machine Control Installation, Calibration, and Support Team Leader with customer requirements and operational planning.
• Document post-installation testing and maintain operational quality records.
• Conduct operator training for end users on system usage and operation.
• Train others and serve as an ambassador for technology integration on machines.
• Provide operational support for teams, stocks, vehicles, improvements, and training as needed.
• Complete and document installations, calibrations, field service, administration, and general activities in accordance with SITECH UK, Ireland, and Trimble standards.
• Deliver customer-focused outcomes, achieving first-time fixes and timely work to required standards.
• Operate remotely with national coverage and occasional overnight stays.
• Report directly to the Regional Installations Team Leader.
• Work under the supervision of a fully qualified SITECH Installation and Support Engineer during initial training.
• College or vocational qualification in Mechanical, Hydraulics, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
• Recent demonstrated capability to troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical issues on heavy machinery.
• Familiarity with construction site operations using heavy equipment machine control systems is preferred.
• IOSH, RAMS, Health & Safety awareness, along with an up-to-date CSCS card.
• Experience in Arc welding (helpful but not mandatory).
• Operation of heavy construction equipment is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Ability to research new and existing technical information through the Trimble portfolio.
• Experience with construction equipment is desirable.
• Experience with construction equipment technology is a plus.
• Familiarity with ground survey/digital field equipment is preferred.
• Understanding of field installation, calibration, and service support processes and documentation.
• Experience working in an OEM or OEM dealer site environment in an engineering or operations role.
• Experience as a field engineer is beneficial.
• Experience in a field technology role is advantageous.
• Experience in a service environment or workshop is preferred.
• Champion safety throughout all customer and operational activities.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Ability to effectively manage one’s time and support SITECH and customer needs.
• A keen attention to detail and the ability to diagnose issues through knowledge and experience in mechanical and electronic systems.
• Relevant qualifications are required; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Customer-centric mindset and dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction.
