This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take ownership of and expand existing and assigned accounts within the designated territory.
• Assess opportunities, formulate sales strategies, maintain a steady pipeline, and meet designated sales and financial performance targets.
• Identify and engage potential customers, cultivate important contacts, establish trust, and develop consultative partnerships.
• Comprehend customer requirements and suggest technically suitable products or solutions.
• Recognize obstacles to closing deals while balancing customer satisfaction with company goals.
• Drive and pursue small-order, quote, and sales opportunities below $50,000.
• Perform customer outreach and follow up on leads provided by the Sales Manager.
• Collaborate with Customer Service on pricing and quote preparation.
• Manage a substantial customer workload, averaging 35-50 quotes and 20-30 calls and emails daily.
• Deliver requested on-time shipping reports.
• Identify delivery challenges and opportunities for improvement.
• Escalate critical issues to plant managers, schedulers, and shippers.
• Conduct research, reporting, data collection, and sales analytics.
• Provide feedback on forecasts and utilize customer, market, and performance insights to inform territory decisions.
• Develop promotional programs and educational materials for electronic distribution.
• Represent the company at select industry meetings and trade shows.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, external sales representatives, business analysts, plant teams, and the wider Commercial organization.
• Operate independently in a dynamic territory, adjust sales strategies and priorities, multitask, solve problems creatively, and foster positive working relationships.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, sales, marketing, business, or a related technical field, preferably with an engineering or technical focus.
• 1-3 years of experience in technical sales and business development, tailored to territory requirements and team skill gaps.
• Customer service experience managing multiple clients and a high volume of daily quotes, calls, and emails.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, organizational skills, process improvement, business acumen, and relationship-building expertise.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable utilizing computers and digital tools on a daily basis.
• Experience with Excel to create tables and reports and to manage, analyze, and interpret data.
• Prior experience in telecom, datacom, or utility power is preferred.
• Self-driven, results-oriented, competitive, persistent, adaptable, and cooperative.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
