Inpatient Coding Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +3 more states.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Ensure precise, high-quality, and compliant inpatient facility coding through pre-bill and retrospective audits.

β€’ Deliver targeted training to enhance consistency and the quality of documentation.

β€’ Conduct routine monthly, focused pre-bill, CDI reconciliation, and second-level review queue coding quality assessments across OUH.

β€’ Execute peer-to-peer auditor evaluations.

β€’ Liaise with teams and departments to address account review and code/DRG validation concerns.

β€’ Address coding-related inquiries from both internal and external coding personnel.

β€’ Initiate rebilling processes as mandated by policy for special projects.

β€’ Test auditing-team tip sheets and training materials and offer constructive feedback.

β€’ Sustain or surpass productivity and accuracy benchmarks.

β€’ Review official data quality standards, coding guidelines, policies, procedures, and clinical/medical resources.

β€’ Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Candidates must live and work full-time in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Texas prior to their first day of employment.

β€’ A High School diploma or GED is required for Level 1.

β€’ A minimum of 1 year of experience in Inpatient Facility Coding Auditing or DRG Validation, along with at least 5 years of inpatient facility coding experience, is required for Level 1.

β€’ A minimum of 3 years of experience in Inpatient Facility Coding Auditing or DRG Validation, including at least 2 years of coding at an Academic Health Center, is required for Level 2.

β€’ An Associate's degree is required for Level 3.

β€’ A minimum of 5 years of Inpatient Facility Coding Auditing experience at an Academic Health Center is required for Level 3.

β€’ RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CIC certification is mandatory.

β€’ HFMA CRCR certification is required within 6 months of hire for Level 3.

β€’ All educational requirements specified in current Company policy must be met.

β€’ Candidates must keep current knowledge of official data quality standards, coding guidelines, Company policies and procedures, and clinical/medical resources.
