This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage large-scale distributed databases that support Dropbox services.

• Design and enhance the core infrastructure responsible for managing Dropbox databases at scale.

• Facilitate quick and reliable data access for millions of users and numerous internal services.

• Architect and maintain distributed database systems that provide low-latency, strongly consistent data access.

• Implement and optimize mechanisms for replication, consensus, and caching.

• Manage production systems and engage in the on-call rotation.

• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Product teams on existing and upcoming use cases and roadmap planning.

• Engage in system design reviews, postmortems, and improvements in reliability.

• Write high-quality, efficient code in Go and Rust for performance-critical systems.

• Address bugs, outages, and operational issues as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field that involves coding (such as physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software development.

• Experience in designing and implementing software based on distributed systems principles: replication, consistency, partitioning, and fault tolerance.

• Proven experience in building databases, storage systems, or large-scale data infrastructure.

• Proficient in programming and debugging in languages such as Python, Go, Rust, C/C++, or Java.

• Familiarity with consensus and coordination systems (e.g., Raft, Paxos, ZooKeeper).

• Strong skills in debugging and performance analysis.
