This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Support patients and healthcare providers regarding Patient Support services, specific diseases, and therapies.
• Assist patients and caregivers with assessments related to Patient Support services.
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers concerning medication access.
• Address inquiries related to programs, disease states, and products using provided materials.
• Provide ongoing support to enhance patient adherence.
• Refer patients to healthcare providers for clinical inquiries beyond program materials.
• Record patient information and interactions in electronic patient records.
• Conduct regular file reviews and updates.
• Follow case-management protocols, including data collection, patient follow-up, monitoring therapy disruptions or discontinuations, reporting adverse events, and collaborating with primary healthcare providers.
• Work with reimbursement specialists and physicians to secure funding for therapies and explore alternatives.
• Coordinate and monitor patient services in accordance with KPIs to expedite therapy access.
• Participate in specialized therapy training sessions.
• Attend pharmaceutical meetings, patient meetings, and conferences; collaborate with patient associations and advocacy groups.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers, pharmacies, and infusion/injection clinics for treatment logistics and issue resolution.
• Maintain clear communication with the manager, team, and clients regarding patient cases.
• Assist in training new Nurse Case Managers.
• Provide feedback on protocols, databases, processes, and inter-departmental workflows.
• Report adverse events and severe adverse events in accordance with program procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties, including standby/on-call responsibilities as required.
• A Bachelor’s degree or a diploma in nursing (registered nurse) is preferred; a graduate degree or relevant experience in managing a practice is advantageous.
• A diploma in healthcare or a related field, with a Bachelor’s degree being preferred.
• Active registration as a licensed nurse (RN or RPN/LPN) from the College of Nurses in the respective province is mandatory.
• A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, insurance, or related fields.
• At least two (2) years of experience in a public or private third-party reimbursement context, sales, care management, or clinical support within the pharmaceutical industry, or similar experience.
• Fluency in French and/or English may be necessary depending on the program and geographic location.
• Proficient in internet research and computer skills.
• Strong oral and written communication, problem-solving, teamwork, telephone, analytical, and mathematical abilities.
• Capability to communicate and comprehend medical information effectively.
• Skillful in managing sensitive issues involving differing viewpoints and demonstrating strong negotiation skills.
• Effective interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Proficient in presentation techniques.
• Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office applications.
• Willingness to travel at least 15% of the time annually.
