Implementation Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Take charge of comprehensive project management for customer implementations, from commercial handoff to go-live and transitioning to ongoing support.

• Create and maintain detailed implementation plans that include milestones, timelines, dependencies, responsibilities, commitments, resources, and go-live dates.

• Set up governance structures and establish regular meeting schedules for implementation.

• Act as the main point of contact for customers in project management matters.

• Facilitate kickoff meetings, ongoing project meetings, readiness reviews, preparations for go-live, and post-implementation evaluations.

• Oversee multiple concurrent, complex implementations across multi-site, IDN, reference laboratory, and enterprise environments.

• Collaborate with Sales, Clinical Applications, Field Service, Digital Solutions/IT, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, and other functional teams.

• Define roles, responsibilities, deliverables, and deadlines for workstreams; promote effective communication and decision-making.

• Monitor customer readiness, which includes site preparation, laboratory workflow, facilities, IT/network connectivity, staffing, training, and validation.

• Coordinate the delivery of instruments, their installation, connectivity, validation, training, go-live support, and discussions regarding go/no-go decisions.

• Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, mitigation plans, escalations, and structured problem-solving initiatives.

• Maintain forecasts for installation and go-live; track cycle time, milestone adherence, forecast accuracy, on-time go-live performance, delays, and KPIs.

• Provide visibility into implementation demand for resource-capacity planning.

• Ensure proactive communication with customers and coordinate project closeout, lessons learned, and transitions to operational support.

• Develop and enhance implementation tools, templates, readiness assessments, communication plans, risk management tools, SOPs, and closeout processes.

• Lead or assist with special projects and complete necessary reports and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's Degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of related experience is required; or a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is preferred, along with at least 3–5 years of relevant experience.

• Required experience in the clinical diagnostics, IVD, medical device, laboratory automation, or healthcare technology industries.

• Proven experience managing the installation and implementation of capital equipment in hospital, reference laboratory, or clinical laboratory settings.

• Knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, workflows, validation processes, quality requirements, and regulatory considerations.

• Experience in coordinating laboratory information systems, middleware, networking, automation, or other healthcare IT integrations.

• Experience in managing complex multi-site, health system, IDN, or enterprise customer implementations.

• Proficient in developing project charters, implementation plans, communication plans, RACI matrices, risk registers, readiness assessments, and project status reports.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent platforms.

• Familiarity with CRM, ERP, Power BI, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar business and project management tools.

• Preferred certifications include PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, or other relevant project management credentials.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% to customer locations.
