This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Design and implement solutions for federation identity and access management that align with business needs.
• Integrate federation technologies with both enterprise and cloud systems, including Active Directory, HR systems, and cloud applications, utilizing SAML 2.0, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0.
• Develop and maintain tailored authentication experiences through Okta APIs, SDKs, and widget-based login flows.
• Configure and support multi-factor authentication (MFA) technologies, including PingID, Okta Verify, Microsoft Authenticator, FIDO2, biometric authentication, and OTP/push methods.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to federation authentication and authorization.
• Analyze logs to diagnose challenges associated with user provisioning.
• Monitor, optimize, and ensure the scalability and performance of the federation infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and guidance to both administrators and end users.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and external partners.
• Document federation configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Stay updated on industry trends and propose improvements accordingly.
• Support secure identity and authentication services for AbbVie’s global workforce, comprising 80,000 users and customer identities.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 4 years of experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience with Okta and Ping Federate.
• Demonstrated experience as a Federation Engineer or in a comparable role.
• Strong grasp of identity and access management principles.
• Practical experience with Okta Identity Engine (OIE) for CIAM workflows, including registration flows, self-service, B2C/B2B identity patterns, and Sign-In Widget.
• Familiarity with federation platform features, such as user lifecycle management, single sign-on (SSO), and MFA.
• Advanced skills in PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, and PingFederate.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Keen attention to detail and task prioritization in a dynamic environment.
• Preferred: certifications like Okta Certified Administrator, Ping Federate/PingOne Certified, or Microsoft Entra ID.
• Preferred: experience supporting large-scale environments with over 10,000 users; experience with 80,000+ users is preferred.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks, such as NIST and ISO 27001.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.
