
HVAC Retro Controls Commissioning Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Implement retro-commissioning and commissioning services for designated projects while adhering to budget, timeline, and quality standards.
• Propel project success for retro-commissioning and pertinent new construction commissioning tasks through a solutions-oriented approach.
• Collaborate with engineering and project execution executives, construction management, engineers, and trade partners.
• Lead and nurture resources assigned to the Technical Services team.
• Execute responsibilities in accordance with company safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Mentor and oversee the assigned team.
• Engage in defining project scope, technical strategies, KPIs, staffing plans, and estimates for new initiatives.
• Create and update Technical Services Project Execution Plans.
• Develop and sustain monthly project cost forecasts.
• Manage and organize delivery timelines, integrating tasks with the master project schedule.
• Participate in project scheduling meetings to identify and address conflicts and gaps.
• Monitor scope modifications across automation and MEP disciplines, communicating concerns, conflicts, schedule alterations, and budget revisions.
• Supervise project resources and track project KPIs to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
• Coordinate with the Technical Services Director regarding staff utilization and skill sets.
• Track energy performance during construction and work collaboratively to achieve and sustain performance goals.
• Align project requirements and documentation with delivery team members and partners.
• Coordinate design, construction, data delivery, and MBCx project scopes.
• Identify, communicate, monitor, allocate, and resolve design or construction challenges.
• Work together with the Energy Management team to assess and prioritize responses to existing conditions, deficiencies, and issues.
• Assist with issue resolution and suggest project solutions.
• Address or escalate constraints affecting project outcomes and scope finalization.
• Direct, coordinate, document, and follow up on team communications.
• Review project expense reports and time entries for precision, budget compliance, and policy adherence.
• Conduct project closeout activities, including reporting, team reviews, turnover meetings, and lessons-learned sessions.
• Comply with IS Delivery and IS Technical Services process guidelines and SOPs.
• Uphold the company’s core organizational values.
• Carry out other tasks as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• Over 5 years of experience in commissioning or a related domain with mechanical, electrical, building automation systems, programming, or building operations management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Commitment to safety.
• Robust analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Capacity to work with minimal or limited information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with cloud-based commissioning software platforms.
• Willingness and capability to travel 30–40% of the time to job sites and office locations within the region.
• Ability to perform physical activities including climbing stairs, ascending and descending ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and operating machinery and/or power tools.
• Capability to perform medium work, including adjusting and/or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
