This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver pre-sales engineering, design, and estimation during the project design or proposal phases.
• Execute value engineering and cost optimization tasks.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors, including QA/QC responsibilities.
• Oversee the pre-sales development process for Johnson Controls Metasys BAS solutions.
• Manage the GCoE project development process throughout North America.
• Gather, analyze, and present solutions, designs, scopes, and cost estimates.
• Assist sales management with opportunity prioritization, qualification, and project-development requirements.
• Offer technical sales support and organize pre-bid and pre-book estimate reviews.
• Handle project cost data during booking and release meetings.
• Compile detailed customer applications, engineering designs, materials lists, and subcontractor bids.
• Create specifications, applications engineering, product selections, subcontractor RFPs, evaluations, and proposals.
• Coordinate teams and manage financial and execution risk strategies for projects.
• Review solution applications and cost estimates with sales and operations teams.
• Aid in communicating the technical value proposition and present BAS solutions to customers.
• Define scopes, terms, conditions, bid forms, and contracts for vendors and subcontractors.
• Develop control schematics, installation scopes, and system cost estimates.
• Collaborate with the JCI OpenBlue Digital team on integrated automation and cloud analytics solutions.
• Participate in customer, vendor coordination, and project turnover meetings.
• Support operations during system installation and provide technical assistance as needed.
• Conduct engineering and cost-impact analyses to quantify savings and benefits for customers.
• Evaluate project risks and recommend appropriate mitigation activities.
• Ensure compliance with project-development processes, standard tools, QA/QC policies, procedures, and practices.
• Act as a liaison between Sales and System Engineering regarding product and application strengths and weaknesses.
• Assess BAS value-engineering options pertinent to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Transfer technical solution documentation and specifications to Project Managers.
• Identify and promote best-in-class engineering practices.
• Manage backlog execution, schedules, and project forecasts alongside team leaders.
• Five to seven years of experience in controls sales/operations with HVAC systems and project cost development of Building Automation Systems (BAS), including Automatic Temperature Controls (ATC) and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Must possess the ability to work on US restricted projects.
• Proven computer and analytical skills are essential.
• Capacity to solve problems in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Experience in JCI installation operations as an Application Engineer or in Installation Sales is preferred.
