This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Take charge of onboarding and offboarding processes for all hires within a remote team spanning multiple states.
β’ Oversee the review cycle in Strety, managing its mechanics, scheduling, calibration, and follow-up actions.
β’ Address employee relations issues, including policy inquiries, scheduling conflicts, accommodation requests, and interpersonal challenges.
β’ Coordinate the hiring process from role definition through to offer stages, including forming interview panels and maintaining candidate communication.
β’ Manage open enrollment, maintain broker relationships, and ensure compliance with multi-state employment regulations.
β’ Keep the handbook, policy documents, and personnel records up to date.
β’ Develop and implement the performance improvement process.
β’ Identify and resolve other gaps in people processes.
β’ Engage in investigations and termination discussions alongside the CEO and external counsel, documenting proceedings and executing decisions.
β’ Provide compensation recommendations for review and approval by the CEO.
β’ Report directly to the CEO while collaborating closely with external employment counsel.
β’ A minimum of three years of experience as an HR generalist.
β’ At least one year serving as the sole HR representative or as one of two HR professionals.
β’ Direct experience with California employment law.
β’ Familiarity with multi-state employment practices.
β’ Proven experience independently managing a complete review cycle.
β’ Demonstrated experience running a full hiring process without assistance.
β’ Capable of enhancing existing processes while exhibiting the patience to maintain them until modifications are warranted.
β’ Strong documentation skills.
β’ Sound judgment for addressing issues appropriately and the discipline to escalate problems promptly.
β’ U.S. person status is required due to the nature of the customers' work.
β’ Preferred: experience as the initial HR hire.
β’ Preferred: knowledge of EOS Defense, government contracting, or another regulated environment.
β’ Preferred: PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
