This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Collaborate with leadership to implement HR strategies pertaining to talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning.
β’ Oversee the administration of benefits, leave management, disciplinary issues, performance and talent management, occupational health and safety, as well as training and development programs.
β’ Manage employee documentation, including files, transfers, compensation modifications, address updates, verifications, benefits administration, and related paperwork.
β’ Assist with the administrative tasks associated with employee onboarding and offboarding.
β’ Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
β’ Supervise accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing.
β’ Plan and carry out both virtual and in-person cultural events.
β’ Act as a reliable liaison and people-oriented partner for employees.
β’ Assess and onboard vendors, which includes selecting a PEO partner for HR, payroll, and benefits administration.
β’ Recruit, onboard, mentor, and manage a direct report to create a high-performing HR team.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
β’ Over 5 years of experience in Human Resources, with a minimum of 1 year in a distribution environment.
β’ Proven experience as an HR professional in a distribution company within a heavily regulated sector.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of compliance, licensing, and safety issues in a regulated distribution context.
β’ Proficient knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organizational development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement, and employee development.
β’ Required prior experience in people management, including hiring, coaching, and performance evaluation of direct reports.
β’ Experience with PEOs is mandatory.
β’ Experience in the cannabis industry is essential.
β’ A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to drive for extended periods.
β’ SHRM/PHR certification is advantageous.
β’ Familiarity with Google Suite is recommended.
