HR Manager – DTC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete people function from start to finish as the sole HR hire.

• Manage monthly and semi-monthly payroll and benefits processes.

• Ensure accurate and timely payments for both contractors and employees.

• Address payroll adjustments, corrections, and maintain records.

• Oversee the full hiring cycle including job postings, sourcing, screening, scheduling, extending offers, and finalizing hires.

• Handle onboarding and offboarding processes, which encompass contracts, account setups, equipment provisioning, initial week plans, and exit checklists.

• Administer HR operations, including maintaining employee files, tracking PTO, managing policy documents, the employee handbook, and performance review schedules.

• Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and sensitive issues.

• Ensure compliance with US employment regulations and identify potential risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of HR experience, including at least 2 years in a generalist or management role involving payroll and recruitment.

• Proven experience working with a US-based DTC or e-commerce brand; this is a strict requirement.

• Practical experience in processing payroll using a US platform such as Gusto, Rippling, Wise, or Deel.

• Comprehensive recruiting experience, including sourcing candidates independently.

• Familiarity with basic US employment laws: classification, exempt vs. non-exempt status, offer letters, and standard state-level requirements.

• Ability to work as the sole HR professional and operate autonomously.

• Strong skills in headhunting and talent acquisition.

• Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.

• Experience in e-commerce is an added advantage.
