This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Initiate and respond to inquiries regarding leave and disability events, as well as the benefits and options available to employees.
β’ Act as a primary contact for assigned employees, delivering comprehensive case management services for 150β200 employee cases.
β’ Evaluate medical documentation and adjudicate leaves in accordance with leave plans, as well as federal and state regulations and benefit plans.
β’ Utilize duration guidelines, best practice tools, and company resources to manage leave events effectively.
β’ Review and modify case management plans to meet the evolving needs of employees.
β’ Handle sensitive situations and troubleshoot issues to eliminate obstacles prior to, during, or after leave events.
β’ Ensure clear communication regarding employee-impacting issues throughout leave events.
β’ Facilitate seamless return-to-work and ramp-back plans for employees.
β’ Provide education to managers and business partners about employee concerns and needs related to leave or return.
β’ Deliver regular updates to employees and stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
β’ Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, regulations, and company policies.
β’ Maintain accurate and timely records and documentation in the system.
β’ Collaborate and coordinate with third-party administrators, HR, Safety, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, team members, and other departments/systems.
β’ Offer corporate-level case management support in a dynamic, high-volume client environment.
β’ Minimum of 1 year of experience as a case manager utilizing case management systems, assessing cases for eligibility, determining appropriate benefits, and developing/executing a case management plan.
β’ 6 years of relevant experience may substitute for a Bachelorβs degree.
β’ 2 years of experience in Human Resources or customer service within the leave and/or disability sector can be considered equivalent to 1 year as a case manager.
β’ Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
β’ Strong focus on customer service, embodying a high standard and a mindset of continuous improvement.
β’ Capacity to be adaptable and flexible to changes and new scopes of work.
β’ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Outstanding organizational and time management capabilities.
β’ Strong technical skills and computer proficiency, including the ability to learn new systems and navigate multiple systems/windows simultaneously.
β’ Ability to prioritize, manage, and complete tasks/projects under tight deadlines.
β’ Knowledge of federal and state Leave and Disability regulations, particularly ADA/ADAAA and FMLA.
β’ Experience handling confidential information.
β’ Background in providing case management services for a large, multi-state employer or on behalf of a carrier/TPA.
β’ Experience advising employees or managers on leave of absence, disability plans, accommodations, human resources, benefits, or employee issues.
β’ A dedicated work-from-home setup is required.
