This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
β’ Initiate and respond to inquiries regarding leave and disability events, as well as benefits and options available to employees.
β’ Act as a primary contact for designated employees and manage a caseload of 150β200 employee cases.
β’ Review medical documentation and adjudicate leaves in accordance with leave plans, federal and state legislation, and benefit programs.
β’ Utilize duration guidelines, best-practice tools, and company resources to manage leave events effectively.
β’ Evaluate and modify case management plans to meet evolving employee needs.
β’ Handle sensitive situations and troubleshoot issues to eliminate barriers before, during, or after leave.
β’ Communicate issues affecting employees and provide regular verbal and written updates to employees and stakeholders.
β’ Facilitate seamless return-to-work and ramp-back plans.
β’ Educate managers and business partners about employee concerns and requirements.
β’ Ensure adherence to standard procedures, regulations, and company policies.
β’ Maintain precise and timely records and documentation within the system.
β’ Collaborate and coordinate with third-party administrators, HR, Safety, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, team members, and other departments or systems.
β’ A minimum of 1 year of experience as a case manager utilizing case management systems, assessing cases for eligibility, determining suitable benefits, and developing/executing a case management plan. 6+ years of experience may substitute for a Bachelorβs degree.
β’ At least 2 years of experience in Human Resources or customer service within a leave and/or disability context can replace 1 year as a case manager.
β’ Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
β’ Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to high standards and a mindset focused on improvement.
β’ Capability to be adaptable and flexible in response to changes and new responsibilities.
β’ Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
β’ Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
β’ Strong technical skills and computer aptitude, including the ability to learn new systems and navigate multiple systems/windows simultaneously.
β’ Ability to prioritize, manage, and complete tasks/projects under tight deadlines.
β’ Knowledge of federal or state Leave and Disability regulations, particularly ADA/ADAAA and FMLA.
β’ Experience handling confidential information.
β’ Experience providing case management services for a large, multi-state employer or on behalf of a carrier/TPA.
β’ Experience advising employees or managers regarding leave of absence, disability plans, accommodations, human resources, benefits, or employee-related matters.
