This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.
• Manage the complete recruitment process within the studio, from initial discussions to finalized offers.
• Anticipate hiring requirements based on production timelines and identify staffing shortages in collaboration with team leads.
• Craft compelling job descriptions to attract top talent.
• Maintain candidate pipelines and ensure timely feedback is provided.
• Negotiate offers and finalize agreements.
• Establish clear role requirements, consistent interview procedures, equitable technical evaluations, and scorecards.
• Oversee and optimize ATS workflows, enhance candidate experience, and track recruiting metrics.
• Mentor managers on interviewing techniques, decision-making, and daily HR policies and tools.
• Conduct salary benchmarks and create market-aligned, budget-conscious offers.
• Manage the employee onboarding process to ensure new hires quickly become productive members of the team.
• Oversee employment contracts, payroll processing, forecasts, vacation and leave management, offboarding, benefits, and employee records.
• Handle terminations professionally and fairly, adhering to labor laws and company policies.
• Prepare termination documentation and assist managers throughout the process.
• Act as the primary HR partner for the studio, addressing conflicts, frustrations, and personal challenges.
• Identify unhealthy dynamics and introduce tools that foster ownership, direct communication, and effective problem-solving.
• Monitor early signs of employee attrition.
• Lead initiatives focused on engagement, well-being, inclusion, and psychological safety in collaboration with the HR team.
• Contribute to shaping the studio culture through events and rituals.
• Minimum of 7 years of HR experience, particularly in medium-to-large tech organizations.
• Extensive full-cycle recruitment experience in the tech or gaming sectors, covering both technical and creative positions.
• Proven ability to execute fast, rigorous hiring processes utilizing structured interviews and scorecards.
• Practical experience in salary benchmarking, offer creation, and negotiation.
• Familiarity with onboarding, employee relations, and HR operations.
• Confidence in managing conflicts and challenging conversations with neutrality, along with an understanding of team dynamics.
• Experience with dynamic candidate pipelines.
• Proven experience working closely with a CEO to foster company culture and values.
• Self-sufficient, organized, and adept at prioritizing tasks.
• Approachable and trustworthy, with sound judgment on when to raise issues.
• Proficient in English with excellent communication skills.
• Regular use of AI tools and a desire to enhance workflows and processes with technology.
• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence.
• Comfort in interpreting Jira reports and project details.
• Proficient in using Slack for communication protocols.
• Passionate about games and the gaming community.
• Nice to have: experience in a fully remote, multi-country team environment.
• Nice to have: knowledge of Maltese employment law or hiring practices across various EU nations.
• Nice to have: training or certification in coaching, mediation, or conflict resolution.
