Hourly Training Specialist – NAM Major Corrective

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide hands-on MCU training at wind sites and GE Vernova training centers.

• Educate both internal and external technicians on gearbox, generator, and main bearing replacements.

• Teach rigging techniques, crane integration, lift planning, and handling of heavy components.

• Instruct on auxiliary equipment, tools, torque specifications, alignment, critical tolerances, and verification processes.

• Mentor technicians during controlled training scenarios and live execution support when necessary.

• Evaluate technician competency through direct observations, practical demonstrations, and assessments.

• Confirm technician readiness prior to their assignment on MCU projects.

• Complete and manage training records, qualification matrices, and competency confirmations.

• Offer structured feedback and coaching to close skill gaps.

• Emphasize EHS expectations and essential risk controls regarding heavy lifts, stored energy, and dropped items.

• Ensure training is consistent with OEM manuals, GE Vernova work instructions, and MCU execution standards.

• Assist in incident investigations by pinpointing training or competency deficiencies and suggesting corrective measures.

• Encourage consistent quality execution and compliance with approved lift plans and procedures.

• Aid in the development and ongoing improvement of MCU training materials, job aids, and standard operating procedures.

• Provide field insights to training and operations leadership concerning execution challenges and trends.

• Fulfill customer, regulatory, and internal audit obligations related to training and qualifications.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least 5 years of practical experience with major component upgrades in wind turbines.

• Proven experience in performing gearbox, generator, and/or main bearing replacements.

• Solid understanding of crane operations, rigging, lift planning, and handling of heavy components.

• Capability to effectively train, mentor, and assess adult learners in a field setting.

• Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America.

• Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.

• Previous experience as an MCU Lead Technician, Foreman, or Supervisor is preferred.

• Experience in delivering hands-on technical or safety training is preferred.

• Familiarity with GE wind turbine platforms and tooling is preferred.

• Train-the-trainer or instructional certification is preferred.

• Experience in prevailing wage and/or union environments is preferred.
