This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Provide practical, hands-on MCU training at wind sites and GE Vernova training facilities.
β’ Educate both internal and external technicians on the exchange of gearboxes, generators, and main bearings.
β’ Guide technicians on rigging practices, crane interaction, lift planning, and the handling of heavy components.
β’ Conduct training on auxiliary equipment, tools, torquing, alignment, critical tolerances, and verification processes.
β’ Mentor technicians during controlled training sessions and offer live execution support as necessary.
β’ Evaluate technician competency through direct observation, practical demonstrations, and assessments.
β’ Confirm technician readiness prior to their assignment to MCU projects.
β’ Maintain comprehensive training records, qualification matrices, and competency sign-offs.
β’ Deliver structured feedback and coaching to address any identified skill gaps.
β’ Emphasize EHS expectations and critical risk controls related to heavy lifts, stored energy, and dropped objects.
β’ Ensure that training is consistent with OEM manuals, GE Vernova work instructions, and MCU execution standards.
β’ Assist in incident investigations by identifying training or competency deficiencies and recommending corrective measures.
β’ Encourage consistent quality execution and compliance with approved lift plans and procedures.
β’ Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of MCU training materials, job aids, and standard operating procedures.
β’ Provide field feedback to training and operations leadership regarding execution challenges and trends.
β’ Meet customer, regulatory, and internal audit requirements related to training and qualifications.
β’ Travel extensively, up to 100%, to active wind sites, training towers, and indoor/outdoor training facilities.
β’ High school diploma or equivalent is required.
β’ At least 5 years of hands-on experience in wind turbine major component upgrades.
β’ Proven experience in performing gearbox, generator, and/or main bearing exchanges.
β’ Strong knowledge of crane operations, rigging, lift planning, and handling of heavy components.
β’ Capability to effectively train, coach, and assess adult learners in a field setting.
β’ Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America.
β’ Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
β’ Previous experience as an MCU Lead Technician, Foreman, or Supervisor is preferred.
β’ Experience in delivering hands-on technical or safety training is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with GE wind turbine platforms and tools is preferred.
β’ Train-the-trainer or instructional certification is preferred.
β’ Experience in prevailing wage and/or union environments is preferred.
β’ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
β’ Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
