This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Offer hotline assistance for the state resource center focused on opioid dependence.
• Handle incoming calls utilizing a harm reduction approach.
• Deliver crisis intervention and precise referral services.
• Gather and input caller data for statistical analysis and reporting.
• Link clients to addiction services, detoxification programs, methadone maintenance, and outpatient care.
• Aid patients in securing treatment and arranging appointments.
• Triage walk-in patients seeking opioid treatment.
• Evaluate potential patients interested in treatment access.
• Provide supplementary support to the medical assistant.
• Coordinate activities related to the OBOT program.
• Manage the waitlist in adherence to federal regulations.
• Update and create resources for clients and their family members.
• Distribute resource materials to clients, family members, support systems, and service providers.
• Collaborate with Department of Public Health Drug and Alcohol hotline staff and various agencies.
• Support clinic operations through filing, charting, referrals, appointment scheduling, and other administrative duties.
• Attend staff and state meetings, taking minutes as needed.
• Associate’s degree (or equivalent) along with 1 year of relevant experience.
• An equivalent combination of formal education and experience is acceptable, including a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of related experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience in a substance abuse or mental health environment is advantageous.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Bilingual or multilingual capabilities beyond English are preferred.
• Knowledge of addiction through formal training or experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Capability to perform basic data management tasks such as data entry, data cleaning, and reporting.
• Proficient typing skills and foundational math abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively manage time.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and sensitivity.
• Capacity to manage and de-escalate challenging conversations with tact and diplomacy.
