This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Deliver hotline assistance for the state resource center dedicated to opioid dependence.
• Respond to incoming calls utilizing a harm reduction approach.
• Provide crisis intervention and reliable referral services.
• Gather and input caller information for statistical analysis and reporting.
• Offer treatment and support-service information to callers.
• Help clients connect with addiction services, detox programs, methadone maintenance, and outpatient care.
• Assist patients in accessing treatment and scheduling appointments.
• Triage walk-in patients seeking opioid treatment.
• Screen prospective patients interested in obtaining treatment.
• Coordinate activities related to the OBOT program.
• Maintain the waiting list in accordance with federal regulations.
• Update and create resources for clients and their families.
• Distribute resource materials to clients, family members, support networks, and providers.
• Collaborate with opioid treatment nurses, providers, and staff from the Department of Public Health hotline.
• Provide backup support to the medical assistant.
• Support clinic operations, including filing, chart management, referrals, and appointment scheduling.
• Participate in staff and state meetings, taking minutes as required.
• Associate’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• A combination of formal education and experience is accepted, including a HS/GED with 3 years of related experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Previous experience in a substance abuse or mental health environment is desirable.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills beyond English are preferred.
• Knowledge of addiction through formal training or experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to carry out basic data management tasks, including data entry, data cleaning, and reporting.
• Proficient typing skills and basic math capabilities.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with compassion and sensitivity.
• Capability to manage and ease challenging conversations with tact and diplomacy.
