This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold corporate coding education, training policies and procedures, along with coding reference materials.

• Facilitate training sessions and evaluate coder understanding.

• Suggest coding resources and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

• Support coding leadership in training and performance enhancement initiatives for coding team members.

• Collaborate with Coding Auditors to create educational materials informed by audit findings.

• Establish and sustain a uniform coding operations orientation program.

• Provide updates on coders' progress to coding leadership during orientation and training sessions.

• Analyze and interpret disease and procedure classifications and terminologies in the role of a nosologist.

• Utilize analytical judgment to apply coding guidelines to specific scenarios.

• Maintain a high level of expertise in coding software tools.

• Aid in the development and upkeep of software workflow.

• Supervise system testing for updates and changes in software functionality.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of experience in Franciscan coding — Required, or Associate's Degree — Required.

• Experience in Surgery Coding — Required.

• 5 years of outpatient coding experience in Franciscan settings with CCS, CCS-P, CPC — Required, or 5 years of outpatient coding experience with RHIT/RHIA — Required.

• CCS, Certified Coding Specialist from AHIMA — Required, or CPC, Certified Professional Coder from AAPC — Required, or CCS-P, Certified Coding Specialist-Physician from AHIMA — Required.

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint — Required.

• Bachelor's Degree — Preferred.

• 3 years of experience as a Coding Manager or Trainer/Auditor — Preferred.

• RHIT or RHIA certification — Preferred.
