This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Offer subject matter expertise for technical assistance initiatives aimed at preventing and ending homelessness through strategic planning, system and program evaluation, data analysis, system modeling, research, and policy formulation.
• Interpret HUD policies and technical guidance, translating requirements into system configurations, data collection methodologies, and reporting workflows.
• Create efficient and replicable methods for generating reports, analytical work products, system administration tasks, and other assigned responsibilities.
• Assist with HMIS data quality assessments, validation rules, and monitoring processes utilizing both automated and manual techniques.
• Identify system configuration parameters, business rules, workflows, and other activities related to system administration.
• Produce performance measurement reports, research briefs, training materials, and other professionally crafted documents.
• Establish and document repeatable analytical methodologies to meet federal and local reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with program, policy, and technical teams to ensure data solutions align with best practices in homeless services and equity objectives.
• Develop and maintain HMIS documentation to facilitate training development and delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Policy, Planning, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be taken into account.
• At least 2 years of experience with HMIS software implementation.
• Comprehensive understanding of HMIS report programming specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Capacity to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while adhering to tight deadlines.
• Preferred: Experience with Python, R, SQL, or other coding-based reporting and scripting frameworks for report creation.
• Preferred: A strong team player who demonstrates initiative and can work effectively independently.
