Home Insurance Claims Examiner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage home insurance claims, dedicating over 80% of your time to the settlement process.

• Act as the primary contact for clients who have experienced losses and submitted claims.

• Assign claims to independent adjusters for further evaluation.

• Walk customers through the claims procedure and assist them in providing necessary documentation.

• Assess claim coverage and communicate coverage decisions clearly.

• Review reports from independent adjusters, address inquiries, and offer guidance.

• Identify policies that necessitate underwriting review.

• Support clients with the repair or replacement of lost or damaged assets.

• Negotiate settlements, coordinate payments, and conclude claims.

• Gather customer feedback and relay it to management for improvement.

• Stay updated with training and industry knowledge.

• Work collaboratively within a supportive team environment while receiving coaching, mentoring, training, and resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property home insurance claims adjusting.

• At least 1 year of employment history with a recent employer.

• A high school diploma is required.

• Preference for some post-secondary education.

• A CIP designation or progress towards obtaining one is desirable.

• An active adjusting license in your home province, or a probationary license in Ontario.

• Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.

• Proficient communication, active listening, and inquiry skills.

• Capability to manage conflict effectively.

• Strong attention to detail along with organizational skills.

• Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback.
