This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Foster student achievement through a well-rounded school counseling program
• Guide students in their academic journey, social and emotional growth, and career and college preparation
• Assist students in planning their postsecondary pathways, applying effective academic strategies, and managing their emotions and interpersonal skills
• Direct students and families towards college and career readiness
• Conduct quarterly meetings with students on the caseload to discuss graduation plans and postsecondary opportunities
• Provide classroom instruction aligned with student success standards
• Review academic transcripts and other educational documentation
• Collaborate with educators to create four-year graduation plans and assess student schedules
• Aid in course placement decisions, including recommendations for Advanced Placement and pathways
• Analyze student data to formulate data-driven intervention plans
• Offer short-term counseling and referrals for extended support
• Provide assistance to teachers, staff, and parents
• Support standardized testing, parent education, and faculty development initiatives
• Advocate for students during individual education plan meetings and other student-centered discussions
• Encourage students and families to set goals and engage in academic planning
• Travel for in-person professional development, student assessments, and other school-related obligations
• Required North Carolina School Counselor Certification
• Mandatory Master's degree
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement
• Valid School Counselor License
• Capability to pass the required background check
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, online search engines, and database systems
• Flexible working hours
• Willingness to travel as necessary
• Master’s degree specifically in school counseling
• Experience in distance learning platforms
• Advanced coursework in counseling and administrative practices
• Residents of North Carolina or neighboring states within a 30-mile radius; out-of-state applicants must possess North Carolina School Counselor certification
• Ability to work autonomously, generally exceeding 40 hours per week
• Capability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
