This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Complete patient records, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other essential documentation.
• Provide patients with an overview of program objectives, phase-system requirements, regulations, rules, sanctions, service hours, and their rights.
• Evaluate and assign patients based on treatment phases and relevant standards and policies.
• Maintain organized and updated patient files.
• Offer crisis counseling to patients by identifying available resources and coping mechanisms.
• Counsel patients who are not in compliance with program requirements and enhance their understanding of the consequences of noncompliance.
• Facilitate referrals to community agencies and resources when necessary.
• Conduct reviews of treatment plans.
• Participate in case conferences and case reviews.
• Develop and sustain knowledge of federal, state, and agency regulations concerning confidentiality, methadone treatment, and substance-abuse counseling certification.
• Submit internal and external documentation to the supervisor for review and approval.
• Secure all necessary patient documentation.
• Provide monthly and quarterly statistical reports to the supervisor.
• Attend team meetings and complete required training courses punctually.
• Perform additional assigned tasks.
• Hold a license that meets the qualifications of the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), or possess certification recognized by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.
• Ensure compliance with continuing education hours and/or units (CEH or CEU) mandated by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs and/or other regulatory bodies.
• An associate degree or higher in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services or a related discipline is required.
• Previous experience in substance abuse counseling is preferred.
• Experience with dependency and/or medication-assisted treatment is also preferred.
• Preferred certifications/licenses include CATC IV, CATC III, CATC II, CATC I, LMFT, LPC, LCSW, SUDCC III-CS, SUDCC III, and SUDCC II.
• Must be available full-time, Monday–Friday, for 40 hours per week.
