This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Complete patient databases, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other necessary documentation.
β’ Introduce patients to program goals, phase-system requirements, regulations, rules, sanctions, service hours, and their rights.
β’ Evaluate patients and assign them according to treatment phases and relevant standards.
β’ Keep patient files organized and up-to-date.
β’ Provide counseling to patients in crisis by identifying available resources and coping strategies.
β’ Counsel patients who do not adhere to program requirements and help them understand the consequences of their actions.
β’ Coordinate referrals to community agencies and resources.
β’ Conduct reviews of treatment plans.
β’ Engage in case conferences and case reviews.
β’ Acquire knowledge of regulations concerning confidentiality, methadone treatment, and substance abuse counseling certification.
β’ Prepare correspondence for supervisor review and approval.
β’ Obtain necessary documentation from patients.
β’ Deliver monthly and quarterly statistical reports to the supervisor.
β’ Attend team meetings and fulfill mandatory training courses.
β’ Perform additional tasks as assigned.
β’ Hold a license in accordance with Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) qualifications or a certification acknowledged by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.
β’ Ensure compliance with continuing education hour/unit requirements (CEH or CEU).
β’ Possess an Associate's degree or higher in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services or a related discipline.
β’ Previous experience in substance abuse counseling is preferred.
β’ Experience with dependency and/or medication-assisted treatment is preferred.
β’ Preferred certifications/licenses include CATC IV, CATC III, CATC II, CATC I, LMFT, LPC, LCSW, SUDCC III-CS, SUDCC III, and SUDCC II.
