This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +3 more states.
β’ Retrieve, abstract, and/or review medical records to capture necessary data elements for HEDIS reporting.
β’ Gather member medical records from EMR/EHR systems.
β’ Evaluate electronic medical records for required documentation.
β’ Download medical record images to corporate storage drives.
β’ Log the receipt of medical record documentation in the appropriate software.
β’ Seek records through phone, fax, mail, or direct onsite collection when necessary.
β’ Input relevant medical record data into the designated HEDIS database to assist with reporting and quality improvement.
β’ Review records abstracted by other HEDIS Medical Record Analysts.
β’ Prepare assigned records for abstraction.
β’ Document retrieval progress and findings for each accessed EMR.
β’ Maintain professional communication with provider offices.
β’ Abstract specific clinical data elements for HEDIS reporting.
β’ Document abstraction findings using specified paper and/or electronic tools.
β’ Share additional pursuit strategies with team members according to departmental policies and procedures.
β’ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
β’ Proven knowledge of medical terminology, EMR/EHR systems, medical record documentation, and clinical processes.
β’ Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
β’ Familiarity with Microsoft Office products is preferable.
β’ Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
β’ Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG coding conventions is advantageous.
β’ Familiarity with FACETS is a plus.
β’ Experience in quality oversight and teaching is desired.
β’ Previous experience in HEDIS and medical record retrieval and/or abstraction for quality or research projects.
β’ An associate degree in Nursing or a related field, along with 3 years of experience in a clinical setting, working with medical records and/or EMR/EHR systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
β’ Preferred valid Registered Nursing (RN/LVN/LPN) license, CPC certification, or CCS certification.
β’ Must have a wired internet connection, not satellite or cellular, with a minimum of 5 Mb upload and 10 Mb download speeds for the work-from-home option.
β’ New hires are required to have access to a personal mobile device for MFA setup.
β’ Background check is mandatory.
