This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +26 more states.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders on intricate business matters to identify needs and reporting requirements.
• Gather and assess data to enhance revenue, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate efforts among analysts and oversee technical initiatives to achieve specific objectives.
• Create, develop, document, maintain, and review complex ad hoc data extraction reports and analyses for Underwriting management.
• Conduct peer reviews of work within the department and across the company.
• Evaluate peer review skills and processes and recommend improvements.
• Suggest and assess enhancements to operational databases, data quality, and overall productivity.
• Organize and implement changes while providing training for team members.
• Test and document outcomes in accordance with department standards.
• Establish and uphold documentation standards.
• Develop dashboards to facilitate the communication of key data metrics and trends.
• Analyze and address complex issues, evaluate alternatives, and execute solutions.
• Identify, assess, and research discrepancies discovered during peer reviews.
• Review new procedures and guide cross-departmental collaboration to implement solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Health Care Administration, or a related field, or 4 years of relevant work experience.
• 5 years of experience in data analytics and/or reporting roles.
• Proficient in SQL, Excel, Python, and Access.
• Familiarity with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Comprehensive understanding of a reporting or query programming language, relational databases, and/or related software packages.
• Extensive experience in data management and technical writing.
• Exceptional skills in problem definition, problem-solving, and technical writing.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with management at all levels.
• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Proven ability to lead teams to achieve specific project objectives.
• Strong knowledge of health care and the health care industry.
• Understanding of health insurance concepts and terminology.
• Ability to meet essential sedentary physical requirements, proficiently use a keyboard, and communicate clearly.
