This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Identify and cultivate a pipeline of new merchant payment opportunities in the healthcare sector through prospecting, internal referrals, portfolio evaluations, industry events, and strategic partnerships.
• Facilitate consultative discussions that explore how clients manage the acceptance, processing, funding, reconciliation, security, and reporting of payments across various channels including in-person, online, mobile, recurring, and integrated.
• Analyze clients’ comprehensive payments landscapes, encompassing acquiring, gateways, point-of-sale systems, card and ACH acceptance, tokenization, funding, chargebacks, fraud prevention, PCI compliance, data security, software integrations, and reporting.
• Review healthcare workflows which include patient collections, pre-service and point-of-care payments, post-visit balances, card-on-file, payment plans, text-to-pay, online bill pay, auto-posting, reconciliation, as well as practice management and revenue cycle integrations with EHR/EMR systems.
• Develop and deliver customized payment strategies aimed at enhancing revenue growth, receivables management, operational efficiency, and the overall experiences of patients and staff while also maximizing banking relationship value.
• Collaborate with product, pricing, underwriting, risk management, technical, implementation, service, and banking teams throughout the discovery, onboarding, activation, and continuous relationship management processes.
• Establish connections with Healthcare Relationship Managers, Business Bankers, Treasury Management partners, branches, and other referral sources.
• Create proposals, conduct demonstrations, build business cases, and prepare executive-level presentations.
• Keep track of opportunity, activity, pipeline, and forecast data in Salesforce or other designated systems.
• Achieve or surpass targets for revenue, sales, approvals, activations, relationship growth, client retention, and partner engagement.
• Remain informed about healthcare market trends, payment technologies, competitors, regulatory requirements, network rules, and innovative payment methods.
• Handle client and bank information with integrity, adhering to relevant laws, regulations, risk standards, and internal policies.
• Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant professional experience equivalent to it.
• At least five years of experience in merchant acquiring, payment processing, treasury management, financial services, healthcare technology, or consultative B2B sales.
• Proven track record in generating new business, managing a sales pipeline, and navigating complex opportunities involving multiple stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of the end-to-end payments ecosystem, which includes acquiring, issuing, card networks, gateways, processors, independent software vendors, payment facilitators, point-of-sale systems, digital wallets, ACH, settlement, funding, reconciliation, interchange, authentication, fraud, chargebacks, and data security.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned market or nationally as business needs dictate; estimated at 25% or more for meetings and presentations that may necessitate in-person attendance.
• Preferably seven or more years of relevant experience in payments, banking, or financial technology.
• Strongly preferred experience in healthcare payments or healthcare financial services.
• Familiarity with patient payment processes and revenue cycle workflows, practice management systems, EHR/EMR platforms, ERP solutions, healthcare integrations, and automated posting and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, PCI DSS, tokenization, encryption, and point-to-point encryption.
• Experience in selling integrated, omnichannel, or software-enabled payment solutions and working in collaboration with technology partners or independent software vendors.
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including processing statement reviews, pricing evaluations, savings quantification, workflow efficiency identification, and development of value propositions.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills, including discovery, negotiation, presentations, and executive relationship management.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across sales, product, technology, implementation, operations, service, risk, and banking teams.
• Requires a minimum of 10 hours of driving per week in the local market.
