Healthcare IT Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a designated workstream facilitating the migration of existing patient data to the new Four Directions Warehouse for the IHS client.

• Create and uphold workstream plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, assumptions, risks, issues, decisions, and change-control documentation.

• Collaborate with program leadership and coordinate activities across technical, clinical, functional, data, integration, analytics, and site-deployment workstreams.

• Assist in data-migration tasks, including requirements definition, source-data assessment, mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, testing, cutover, and post-deployment stabilization.

• Liaise with IHS stakeholders, clinical subject-matter experts, data owners, technical teams, subcontractors, and vendors.

• Monitor workstream readiness and manage inter-workstream dependencies impacting migration, integration, availability, quality, or use of patient data.

• Ensure workstream governance through status reporting, RAID logs, decision logs, action-item tracking, and executive briefings.

• Aid in data-quality and acceptance activities to confirm that patient data is complete, accurate, secure, accessible, and suitable for clinical and operational use.

• Organize meetings, working sessions, readiness reviews, and communications with stakeholders.

• Support user acceptance testing, operational readiness, deployment planning, and resolution of post-implementation issues.

• Maintain scope, schedule, and delivery commitments through effective risk, dependency, and change management.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory.

• Knowledge of both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies is essential.

• Proven experience managing a workstream or significant functional area within a large, complex healthcare IT implementation, data modernization, or data-migration initiative.

• Background in supporting patient-data, clinical-data, EHR, clinical data repositories, data warehouses, data integration, or healthcare analytics projects.

• Experience in managing workstream schedules, milestones, RAID logs, dependencies, change control, stakeholder communications, and executive status reports.

• Expertise in coordinating technical teams, clinical or functional stakeholders, data owners, vendors, and subcontractors within a multi-workstream setting.

• Capable of communicating technical delivery status, risks, dependencies, and decisions effectively to business and executive stakeholders.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Must successfully pass pre-employment qualifications set by Cherokee Federal.

• Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance through the Government.

• Preferred: experience working with IHS, tribal health, federal healthcare, or other government health programs.

• Preferred: background in patient-data migration, healthcare data warehouse implementation, clinical data repositories, data conversion, or data integration.

• Preferred: knowledge of healthcare data standards and technologies such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, ETL/ELT processes, APIs, clinical data models, or data-quality tools.

• Preferred: experience with data validation, reconciliation, clinical/business acceptance, testing, deployment readiness, or cutover planning.

• Preferred: experience in supporting imaging, radiology, CT/X-ray, DICOM, clinical analytics, or other specialized healthcare data domains.

• Preferred: experience in large EHR implementation, modernization, interoperability, or clinical systems integration programs.
