This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Provide analytical support for initiatives related to healthcare provider payment transformation.
• Aid in the design of reimbursement methodologies, rate setting, and funding strategies for provider services.
• Analyze healthcare data, encompassing claims datasets, service-related trend data, provider cost data, and publicly accessible data such as BLS data.
• Design, create, and utilize data models.
• Review, assess, and summarize the output from data models.
• Assist in researching and analyzing Medicaid policies.
• Prepare technical documentation, client reports, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Evaluate the work of others to support Milliman’s quality control measures.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in analyzing large datasets is necessary.
• Proficiency in database management and statistical programming tools, such as SAS, SQL, or Python.
• Capability to write or learn SAS code without user interfaces is essential.
• Experience with Python and Databricks is preferred.
• A strong interest and aptitude for detail-oriented analytical tasks.
• Proficient in effectively communicating technical information and concepts both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to conduct research and summarize findings.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, encompassing Sumifs, Index/match combinations, nested if statements, and the ability to develop and use macros up to full VBA coding.
• Experience in a healthcare-related field, specifically in analyzing Medicaid claims, is mandatory.
• Consulting experience with state Medicaid or other health and human services agencies, or healthcare-related entities, is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, including troubleshooting code, identifying root causes, and independently resolving issues.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States without immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman, both now and in the future.
