This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.
• Accurately and efficiently process requests for release of information and patient medical records.
• Respond to calls from patients, insurance providers, and attorneys, providing updates on medical record statuses.
• Receive and handle patient health information in accordance with company and facility policies.
• Ensure confidentiality, security, and HIPAA compliance for sensitive patient information.
• Maintain a solid understanding of company and facility software systems.
• Report any work-related issues, site challenges, and variations in workload to the manager.
• Oversee patient health records and take measures to protect them.
• Prepare new patient charts utilizing both paper and electronic health record sources.
• Organize medical records in a standard format, ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
• Convert physical documents into digital images for electronic medical records.
• Retrieve and send patient records to both internal and external requestors appropriately.
• Manage incoming and outgoing calls.
• Provide assistance to patients who walk in, as well as handle faxes, mail, data entry, and scheduling pickups as needed.
• Achieve site-specific productivity targets while performing additional assigned tasks.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to travel between locations as necessary.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods when required.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills.
• Comfortable with regular use of phones, fax machines, printers, and other standard office equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate and compliant medical records.
• Excellent data entry skills.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision and adapting to changing priorities and role requirements.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Quick to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment.
