This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +1 more state.
• Accurately and efficiently process release-of-information requests, particularly medical record requests.
• Handle calls from patients, insurance providers, and attorneys, providing updates on medical record statuses.
• Receive and manage patient health information in accordance with organizational and facility policies.
• Uphold confidentiality, security, and compliance with HIPAA and medical privacy regulations.
• Oversee, protect, compile, and maintain patient health records.
• Create new patient charts using both paper and electronic health record systems.
• Ensure medical records are organized in standard order and verify their accuracy and completeness.
• Generate digital images of documents for electronic medical records.
• Retrieve and appropriately forward patient records to both internal and external requesters.
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls.
• Assist with walk-in patients.
• Support the handling of faxes, mail opening, data entry, and scheduling pickups.
• Maintain a working knowledge of company and facility software.
• Report work-related issues, site challenges, and varying workloads to the manager.
• Achieve site-specific productivity targets.
• Carry out additional assigned duties.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to commute between locations as necessary.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods when needed.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills.
• Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other general office equipment.
• Possess professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented and focused on maintaining accurate and compliant medical records.
• Strong data entry skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
• Capable of organizing and managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Able to respond promptly to requests in a fast-paced environment.
