Health Care Administration Associate Professor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the designated subject matter expert and custodian for the Master of Healthcare Administration program and its graduate course sequence.

• Ensure program content remains up-to-date with healthcare practices, regulatory changes, payer environment shifts, and advancements in technology.

• Provide primary support to faculty for any escalated content inquiries.

• Review and validate program outcomes, course learning objectives, and competency mappings.

• Oversee the development and scheduled revision of graduate courses in Canvas from the ground up.

• Create executive-level assessments, rubrics, weekly content, and course documentation.

• Maintain documentation for program structure, plans of study, outcome maps, and competency crosswalks.

• Collaborate with instructional designers, media specialists, and library colleagues on course constructions.

• Address curriculum-related Canvas support tickets.

• Develop graduate certificate and elective programs.

• Lead CAHME accreditation efforts, including self-study narratives, evidence gathering, documentation, and preparation for site visits.

• Uphold the MHA competency framework, ensuring alignment with CAHME competency standards and the Be-Know-Do model.

• Establish assessment infrastructure and evaluate results to drive curricular enhancements.

• Assist with institutional and program accreditation reporting and regulatory documentation.

• Teach one to two graduate courses per session, totaling approximately five to ten courses per fiscal year, using Canvas.

• Advise and mentor graduate students, including supervision of capstone projects and thesis milestones.

• Support visiting professors with curriculum, course expectations, and grading alignment.

• Engage in curriculum committees and college initiatives.

• Design and implement co-curricular programs, such as guest speaker events, professional association involvement, case competitions, networking opportunities, and career readiness activities.

• Assist student organizations and honor society initiatives.

• Cultivate relationships with healthcare organizations, professional associations, and community partners to facilitate experiential learning and practicum opportunities.

• Execute special projects as assigned by the Assistant Dean.

• Manage multiple concurrent projects related to curriculum, accreditation, teaching, and co-curricular activities.

• Adhere to deadlines, identify risks early, recognize gaps, propose solutions, and proactively initiate work.

• Keep documentation organized and maintain version control.

• Communicate project status updates to the Assistant Dean and college leadership.

• Stay informed in the field, engage in scholarly activities, and contribute to faculty professional development and college initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree in the relevant field or a doctorate in a related area with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in healthcare administration.

• Three to five years of experience in the healthcare industry relevant to the graduate course content.

• At least two years of proven experience in curriculum development, including the creation and design of courses from scratch.

• Familiarity with CAHME accreditation standards, criteria, and competency expectations.

• A minimum of two years demonstrating excellence in graduate-level teaching with a background in research, publication, or applied scholarship.

• Capability to manage multiple concurrent projects and consistently deliver quality work ahead of deadlines with minimal supervision.

• Availability and willingness to teach one to two courses each session, totaling approximately five to ten courses per fiscal year.

• Experience in teaching online courses, managing academic programs, and participating in university committees and local and national professional organizations.

• Proven professional experience collaborating with team members from diverse backgrounds.

• Degrees obtained from a regionally accredited institution or its equivalent.

• Credentials must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an equivalent international institution.

• Preferred: direct, hands-on experience with CAHME accreditation.

• Preferred: experience in designing a graduate healthcare administration program, concentration, or certificate from inception.

• Preferred: background in competency-based curriculum design, outcome mapping, and curricular scaffolding.

• Preferred: experience in developing assessment systems, signature assignments, and closing-the-loop reporting.

• Preferred: experience leading co-curricular activities, student case competitions, or professional development events.

• Preferred: five or more years of teaching experience.

• Preferred: prior experience in fully online or hybrid graduate faculty roles.

• Preferred: professional certifications such as FACHE, CPHQ, CRCR, CHFP, or equivalent.

• Preferred: experience utilizing artificial intelligence and analytics tools in healthcare operations or course design.
