Head of Strategic Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the CFO and influence Ondo’s financial strategy.

• Take ownership of the consolidated operating model encompassing revenue, expenses, headcount, unit economics, and balance sheet.

• Lead the planning process for the annual operating plan, rolling forecast, and long-range strategy.

• Provide variance, performance, scenario, and sensitivity analyses.

• Create KPIs, financial frameworks, dashboards, and reports to evaluate business and product performance.

• Model the financial dynamics of new products, markets, and growth opportunities.

• Develop investment proposals and monitor realized outcomes.

• Manage financial and analytical tasks related to board meetings.

• Prepare investor updates and external financial communications.

• Assist with fundraising and financing efforts through models, data rooms, and due diligence materials.

• Maintain valuation analyses, cap tables, dilution scenarios, peer benchmarking, and KPI definitions.

• Collaborate with the CFO on capital allocation, treasury, balance sheet strategy, and liquidity management.

• Analyze institutional partnerships and counterparty economics.

• Assess strategic partnerships, investments, M&A, and other inorganic opportunities.

• Establish reliable financial information and scalable reporting systems.

• Automate financial workflows and enhance Finance systems and processes.

• Assist in recruiting and mentoring future finance team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, consulting, or related fields.

• Experience managing a company-level or significant business-unit financial model, forecast, and planning process.

• Strong FP&A skills, including forecasting, KPI development, performance analysis, scenario planning, and business partnering.

• Advanced financial modeling expertise, including three-statement modeling.

• Experience assessing businesses or opportunities lacking straightforward public comparables.

• Direct experience in producing materials for boards and investors.

• Experience supporting a fundraising or financing transaction from start to finish.

• Proficiency in valuation, cap table and dilution mechanics, financing structures, and capital allocation frameworks.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong executive presence and judgment to function as a trusted partner to senior leaders.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while establishing structure, processes, and analyses as the business evolves.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or another quantitative discipline.
