This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Drive and enhance business performance for the Rare Disease business unit.
• Lead a top-performing national field sales team within the Sickle Cell market.
• Develop, implement, and execute sales strategies and initiatives aimed at increasing market awareness, market share, sales, revenue, and profitability.
• Participate as a member of the Rare Disease Leadership Team.
• Recruit, manage, and oversee the Sickle Cell Region Directors and the sales organization.
• Supervise the Commercial Execution team for Sickle Cell Disease.
• Direct the sales organization to ensure exceptional field execution.
• Ensure that key performance indicators are met or surpassed.
• Promote an inclusive, customer-focused culture within an accountable organization.
• Oversee resource usage, system application, and adherence to administrative policies.
• Collaborate across functions to enhance commercial effectiveness and operational performance.
• Align the efforts of the sales force with marketing strategies, key messaging, training, and implementation activities.
• Evaluate the training needs of the sales organization and implement appropriate solutions.
• Cultivate a strong sales leadership team and foster a winning culture.
• Establish relationships with external customers, community members, healthcare providers, and advocacy organizations.
• Formulate the sales force vision that aligns with the Rare Disease business strategy.
• Identify growth opportunities in the market for both existing and new products.
• Ensure that comprehensive business plans and tactics are developed and executed.
• Guarantee that the sales staff receives the necessary training, coaching, and resources to achieve targets.
• Ensure compliance with regulations is understood and adhered to.
• Implement targeted lists, call planning, and performance metrics for field organization.
• Oversee sales planning and profitability objectives.
• Monitor budgets, expenses, and financial/ROI targets.
• Review and audit expense reports.
• Provide direction, inspiration, and motivation to the Sickle Cell Sales team.
• Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans, annual goals, measurement criteria, learning plans, and aspiration plans.
• Manage the communication and application of Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and the Novo Nordisk Way.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• At least 15 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare sales is required.
• A minimum of 6 years of prior experience in people management is required.
• Previous experience at the Director level for 3 years is required.
• Experience with product launches is required.
• An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
• Experience in Orphan/Rare Disease or Specialty sales is strongly preferred.
• Cross-functional experience across multiple areas is strongly preferred.
• Experience in building new teams and enhancing organizational capabilities is strongly preferred.
• 60-70% overnight travel is required.
