This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +4 more countries.
• Collaborate with the Energy Director to develop and implement the go-to-market strategy for the Energy Business Unit.
• Build, oversee, and continuously enhance the sales pipeline and funnel, including targets, KPIs, forecasting, and performance management.
• Identify and prioritize target markets and customer segments, including expansion into VPP, EOS, and predictive asset management software.
• Lead and expand a small, dedicated sales team while acting as a player-coach.
• Drive new business opportunities across European and global energy markets through expert-led selling, conference networking, and public tenders.
• Utilize an established industry network and cultivate relationships with TSOs, DSOs, utilities, traders, project developers, investors, EPCs, generation aggregators, and technology partners.
• Represent Supercharge at pertinent industry conferences, events, and forums.
• Manage long, multi-year, RFP- and tender-driven sales cycles from initial shaping through bidding, negotiation, and closure.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams focused on commercial and technical submissions, bid governance, qualification discipline, and win-rate optimization.
• Own the pricing strategy for productized solutions across implementation, license-based, and recurring-fee models.
• Develop business cases, shape offerings, launch products, and penetrate new segments in collaboration with the Energy Director and consultants.
• Collaborate with the AI unit to integrate energy and AI offerings.
• Transform domain challenges into solution cores and AI enhancements while safeguarding and commercializing intellectual property.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts, and forge strategic partnerships and alliances.
• Expand anchor accounts, including significant UK interconnector clients, by nurturing senior relationships and upselling.
• Maintain an accurate forward-looking pipeline and inform operations about upcoming projects.
• Take ownership of the Energy Business Unit’s commercial outcomes, measured by revenue and gross margin.
• In-depth knowledge of the UK and European energy sector, including TSOs, DSOs, utilities, traders, and aggregators.
• Proven track record in selling productized or solution-led software offerings within the energy sector.
• Experience in selling B2B software and custom technology solutions.
• A minimum of 5-8 years in business development, commercial leadership, or solution sales, with responsibility for targets and strategy.
• Experience in structuring and pricing license, subscription, or operating-fee agreements.
• Familiarity with managing long, multi-stakeholder, RFP- and tender-driven sales cycles and formal public procurement processes.
• Technical fluency to engage with clients and engineers, including a working understanding of trade optimization/automation, forecasting, dispatch, and asset management.
• Experience in leading or mentoring a sales team, or a willingness to assume a player-coach role.
• An active network within the energy industry.
• Ability to work autonomously and establish structure in a developing role.
• Knowledge of energy trading workflows, large-scale energy asset infrastructure, or commercializing productized and solution-core offerings is advantageous.
• Experience in international sales across various energy markets is a plus.
• A degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or Economics and/or an MBA is preferred.
