Head of Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Take complete ownership of AI Potluck, overseeing all aspects including Alpha, the Gap Map, the Alpha Public Router, and upcoming products.

• Collaborate with Engineering to convert vision into actionable roadmaps and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).

• Manage the entire product lifecycle from initial conception through to launch.

• Transition Alpha from testing phases to regular usage within partner organizations.

• Determine the product direction and developer use cases for the Public Router.

• Establish the 2027 roadmap in collaboration with partners and grantees.

• Enhance partner contributions to Alpha.

• Interpret the CEO’s vision into product designs, focusing on interoperability and the completeness of the ecosystem.

• Manage the product roadmap and present technical options and trade-offs to leadership.

• Create PRDs and user stories while overseeing the roadmap.

• Organize workstreams and maintain documentation for the roadmap, release notes, and partner communications.

• Propel impactful product and feature launches.

• Align engineering teams and external partners to a unified product roadmap.

• Engage with partners, grantees, and the wider technical community to further ecosystem strategy.

• Ensure that product initiatives receive appropriate funding and staffing.

• Foster a culture focused on building, emphasizing innovation, execution, and transparency.

• Identify and nurture new projects, prototypes, and product lines to fill gaps in the public-interest AI landscape.

• Establish the vision for AI coding tools while ensuring human oversight in critical product decisions.

• Assist Engineering in determining what to develop and for whom based on foundational principles.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10-12+ years of experience in Product Management, particularly in AI systems.

• Proven experience in designing and managing complex technical product roadmaps across distributed teams.

• Collaborative and cross-functional work style, with a history of partnering with Engineering and Program teams to enhance impact.

• Strategic mindset regarding product ecosystems and platforms.

• Builder mentality with a propensity for experimentation and delivering results.

• Proficient in English with excellent public speaking abilities and the skill to tailor written communication for various audiences.

• Background in open-source ecosystems, research-product organizations, or public-interest technology initiatives (preferred).

• Proven track record of developing and executing product strategies that shift narratives and foster movements (preferred).

• Proficiency in French is highly advantageous.

• Experience with international organizations, foundations, or global advocacy movements (preferred).
