This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership and enhance the People technology ecosystem: HRIS, ATS, onboarding tools, and benefits platforms—selecting, implementing, and managing systems that grow alongside the company.
• Develop the policy and documentation framework: employee handbook, job architecture, compensation bands, performance review cadence, and PIP process—designed once for lasting scalability.
• Create a remote-first onboarding experience that integrates culture and expedites ramp-up; ensure compliance across multiple states for a dispersed U.S. workforce.
• Drive engagement, internal communications, and culture initiatives—including quarterly off-sites—anchored in data (eNPS, pulse surveys) rather than intuition.
• Prioritize automation: establish self-service workflows, reduce manual tasks, and document systems to ensure the team does not rely on tribal knowledge.
• Oversee and mentor a Talent Acquisition hire responsible for daily sourcing, interviewing, and coordination across Engineering, Product, and GTM.
• Manage the recruiting infrastructure: ATS configuration, interview loop design, scorecards, offer frameworks, and employer brand positioning.
• Establish and uphold the hiring standards: calibrate interviewers, engage executive-level candidates, and ensure quality and consistency across all hiring pipelines.
• Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning: role definitions, headcount prioritization, level stratification, and compensation band strategy.
• Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and sensitive situations—addressing them directly rather than directing them to an FAQ.
• Partner with managers on performance discussions, coaching, and team dynamics to prevent escalation.
• Manage feedback mechanisms—1:1s, exit interviews, pulse data—that keep leadership informed without surprises.
• Be the trusted individual whom employees know will listen first and act with discretion.
• 6–10 years of experience in People/HR within fast-paced startups; prior experience managing or mentoring TA or HR coordinators is preferred.
• Proven track record as a systems builder—you have selected and deployed HRIS, ATS, and People tools from the ground up, not merely administered existing systems.
• Automation-first mindset—your default question is "how can we avoid doing this manually next time," and you can provide examples of workflows or self-service systems you have created.
• Strong operational and program management skills—you design frameworks that endure growth and document decisions so the team does not rely on tribal knowledge.
• Sufficient TA fluency to set hiring standards, engage executive candidates, and coach your recruiter—without being directly involved in every search.
• Experience with remote-first, distributed teams; exceptional communicator comfortable with policy writing, presenting to leadership, and representing Nametag externally.
• High emotional intelligence and a genuine concern for people—you handle delicate situations with discretion, and employees recognize it.
• Competitive salary plus meaningful equity.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
• Remote-first approach with flexible PTO.
• Annual team off-sites.
• New MacBook and home-office equipment provided.
