This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more countries.
• Act as the dedicated people partner for roughly 200 Global Shared Services employees.
• Provide guidance and coaching to GSS leaders, from managers to VPs, regarding team structure, workforce requirements, talent, and people-related decisions.
• Spearhead organizational design and workforce planning, which includes defining structures, roles, levels, sizing, and sequencing.
• Manage talent and succession planning, focusing on readiness, flight risk, and identifying single points of failure.
• Collaborate on decisions related to performance and compensation, including calibration, promotion cases, and band placement.
• Mentor senior leaders and global managers on leadership skills, behavior, and performance discussions.
• Drive people-focused change during restructures and leadership transitions.
• Act as the representative for People in global staff matters and oversee employment decisions within the organizational structure.
• Establish clear definitions for behavior and underperformance categories and ensure effective communication throughout the organization.
• Review country-level case management and develop global standards for intake, escalation, responsibility, and documentation.
• Create a framework for employment decisions and a delegated authority matrix in collaboration with Legal.
• Design and provide enablement programs for managers, HR Managers, and staff.
• Maintain a centralized record of investigation outcomes to spot patterns and discrepancies.
• Within the first 90 days, recommend who should handle behavior and underperformance cases in each country.
• Support HR Managers through various cases and act as a technical escalation point.
• Offer People input during case triage and track outcomes for uniformity.
• Report directly to the Head of People.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience as an HR business partner working with executive and senior leadership.
• Proven experience in coaching strong domain leaders who are evolving into effective people leaders.
• Background in a scale-up or major transformation involving swift growth, restructuring, or both.
• Expertise in establishing systems and employee relations standards, policies, or frameworks from the ground up or nearly so.
• Experience in getting employee relations standards implemented across various countries or business units.
• A combination of high-growth commercial or tech experience alongside international or mission-driven exposure.
• Proven track record in advising on disciplinary and capability matters, including dismissals, across multiple jurisdictions.
• Sound judgment regarding when to involve legal counsel.
• History of influencing others without formal authority in a matrixed organization.
• Ability to overlap with the East Africa timezone by at least 3 hours and have significant overlap with US Eastern hours.
• Must be eligible to work in a qualifying country; the employer currently provides salary benchmarks for the United States, United Kingdom, and Kenya.

• Preferred: experience operating in sub-Saharan Africa.
• Preferred: experience in establishing a people function or significant components of one from the beginning.
• Preferred: formal training or practical experience in workplace investigations.
• Preferred: experience in developing manager enablement content.
• Successful completion of safeguarding and pre-hire screening may include checks for previous employer misconduct, reference checks, criminal background checks, and sanctions screening.
• Target performance bonus: 15% with potential for additional upside.
• Annual benefits stipend: $21,393 (United States), £2,760 (United Kingdom), or $8,453 (Kenya).
• The benefits stipend can be utilized for coverage of benefits or taken as additional taxable income.
