This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of positioning and messaging; determine the target audience, the problem the product addresses, and how to effectively communicate this.
• Identify the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and verify or adjust it through customer discussions and data analysis.
• Conduct pricing and packaging experiments informed by buyer behavior.
• Develop outbound strategies from the ground up, including creating lists, sequences, initial calls, and transitioning from founder-led sales.
• Secure initial design partners and convert them into paying customers, references, and sources of product feedback.
• Achieve the first significant revenue directly.
• Create demand generation and content initiatives, encompassing launches, writing, demonstrations, and engaging with buyers.
• Collaborate closely with the founder and founding engineers, providing customer insights to enhance the product.
• Establish a straightforward go-to-market (GTM) stack and key performance indicators.
• Recruit and lead the GTM team once the sales strategy is validated.
• Proven experience in taking a B2B product from inception or near-inception to its first paying customers, with a significant portion of those deals closed personally.
• Experience selling technical products such as AI, developer tools, APIs, or B2B SaaS to technical teams.
• Comfort in dealing with technical buyers, capable of conducting demos, addressing architectural inquiries, and knowing when to involve an engineer.
• Ownership of positioning, ICP, and pricing strategies, rather than merely executing pre-existing plans.
• A player-coach mentality; you craft emails, conduct calls, and develop processes independently.
• Familiarity with AI tools in your daily work, able to discern genuine agent value from marketing hype.
• Proficient in navigating ambiguous briefs, making data-driven decisions, and demonstrating results in weeks rather than quarters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of articulating the product to a skeptical buyer and explaining the pipeline to a founder without relying on slide decks.
• Nice to have: Experience as one of the initial GTM hires at a startup that successfully raised funds or scaled.
• Nice to have: Background in selling AI agents, automation, or workflow tools.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with product-led growth in addition to a sales approach.
• Nice to have: Experience in building a content or community engine that generated tangible pipeline.
• Nice to have: Established network among engineering leaders, operations leaders, or startup founders.
• Nice to have: Previous experience in hiring and managing Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) or Account Executives (AEs).
• A founding role, allowing you to lead go-to-market strategies and influence how the company sells.
• Equity stake as a founding member.
• Direct access to the founder and founding engineers, with no intermediary layers.
• Remote work opportunity from anywhere in the US, ideally with hours that align with Pacific Time.
• Access to the necessary tools to conduct impactful GTM experiments.
• Join a small, experienced team that empowers you to manage your own work.
• Opportunity to build and lead the GTM team as the company expands.
