This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the practical deployment, scaling, and adoption of production AI and agentic software within essential business units.
• Lead a self-directed team of engineers collaborating with operational leaders from underwriting to finance.
• Define, prototype, and deliver significant AI workflows in partnership with business leaders.
• Create internal prompt libraries, integration patterns for tools, and retrieval architectures.
• Allocate embedded engineering tasks across teams and business priorities while maintaining a hands-on approach.
• Incorporate field insights, data classification limitations, and operational realities into the architecture of the AI platform and tool selection.
• Establish coding quality standards for agentic systems, along with review/QA processes and CI/CD integration points.
• Plan and implement technical and business training sessions, including follow-up office hours.
• Assess active adoption rates and business impact metrics by department and engineering team.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in production software engineering.
• Recent (within the last 1–2 years) extensive, hands-on experience with modern agentic/LLM frameworks like Claude Code, LangGraph, and CrewAI.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with non-technical business teams to design, deploy, and sustain production software solutions.
• Strong foundational knowledge in CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Proficient in evaluating, constructing, and enhancing software delivery pipelines.
• Excellent business analysis abilities, translating unclear processes into clearly defined technical solutions.
• Proven leadership and instructional skills.
• Experience in guiding small engineering teams in high-autonomy settings while remaining an active contributor.
• High adaptability and strong business acumen.
• Capability to serve as the most technical individual among operational leaders and the most business-savvy among engineers.
• Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
• Preferred: prior exposure to the insurance or insurtech sectors.
• Preferred: experience in high-growth startup environments.
• Preferred: experience in establishing data governance, classification, or compliance standards.
