Head of Finance – Multi-Entity Ecommerce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Manage the financial records for all entities, both in the US and internationally, using QuickBooks Online; ensure a well-organized entity and class structure while conducting monthly reconciliations.

• Supervise the accounting assistant in categorizing transactions, handling receipts, processing invoices, and performing reconciliations, while quality-assuring their work.

• Collaborate with the accounting assistant to execute payouts for contractors, partners, and distributions, guaranteeing that each individual receives the correct amount at the appropriate time, supported by necessary documentation.

• Monitor ownership distributions and splits to provide each partner with a clear understanding of their entitlements and the rationale behind them.

• Develop dashboards that display cash flow, revenue, expenses, and profit margins by entity and across the entire portfolio.

• Create financial projections and cash flow forecasts to facilitate proactive decision-making.

• Deliver a monthly performance report to partners, highlighting business growth, potential leaks, and suggested actions.

• Analyze costs, subscriptions, and vendor expenditures, collaborating with the team to optimize these areas.

• Establish financial systems for each new company from the outset, including setting up bank accounts and QuickBooks files along with their structure.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably with responsibility for the financial management of a multi-entity business with revenues in the eight-figure range or higher.

• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, including classes, managing multiple entities, and consolidated reporting.

• Familiarity with both US and international entities and currencies; knowledge of US tax regulations is advantageous but not necessary.

• Experience in eCommerce is a plus, as it aids in quickly understanding Shopify payouts, Stripe transactions, advertising expenditures, and contractor payments.

• CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent credentials are highly preferred.

• Proficient in utilizing AI for constructing models, dashboards, and workflows efficiently, while ensuring the privacy of financial data.

• Must be available during core hours and demonstrate strong asynchronous communication skills.

• Recommendations from founders or owners whose financial records you have managed are highly valued.
