This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create, maintain, and enhance responsive websites and web applications for Military OneSource.
• Configure, customize, and oversee WordPress websites, including themes, templates, plugins, and reusable components.
• Develop customized website features utilizing PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and other relevant web technologies.
• Convert UX/UI designs, content specifications, and interaction guidelines into responsive, accessible front-end solutions.
• Provide support for enterprise content management systems and database-driven web applications.
• Diagnose website defects, functionality issues, display problems, integration hurdles, and production incidents; conduct root-cause analysis and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with UX experts, designers, content strategists, publishers, and product owners to enhance the digital experience of Military OneSource.
• Assist with content structures, templates, navigation, search functionality, publishing workflows, and content presentation.
• Create reusable components that promote visual consistency, usability, accessibility, and efficient content publishing.
• Contribute to website modernization, redesign, migration, and platform enhancement projects.
• Utilize website analytics, user feedback, accessibility results, and quality assessments to suggest improvements.
• Develop and maintain integrations among websites, RESTful APIs, databases, analytics platforms, and third-party services.
• Support functionalities such as authentication, search, forms, data exchange, and integrated website capabilities.
• Work with back-end developers, architects, cybersecurity experts, and DevSecOps engineers to resolve technical challenges.
• Facilitate Git-based source control, development workflows, build tools, deployment processes, and configuration management.
• Assist with website monitoring, performance optimization, reliability, and production support.
• Implement secure web development practices and support the identification, remediation, validation, and release of vulnerabilities.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity personnel on RMF, Zero Trust, NIST SP 800-53, privacy, CUI, and Authority to Operate requirements.
• Adhere to relevant Federal and DoD development, security, privacy, records management, and operational standards.
• Maintain technical documentation for application sustainability, security evaluations, and knowledge transfer.
• Engage in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Government stakeholders, product owners, business analysts, content teams, UX specialists, designers, architects, testers, and operations staff.
• Collect and clarify requirements, identify implementation options, and provide level-of-effort estimates.
• Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Deliver implementation documentation, status updates, issue reports, and knowledge transfer while independently operating within a multidisciplinary Agile team.
• Must possess an active Secret clearance or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Web Development, Digital Media, or a related field; equivalent education, certifications, and relevant professional experience may also be considered.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in website, front-end, or web application development.
• Proven experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting production WordPress websites.
• Practical experience with PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience translating UX/UI designs and business requirements into responsive, component-based web interfaces.
• Familiarity with developing or customizing WordPress themes, templates, plugins, and website functionalities.
• Experience supporting enterprise content management systems and content publishing workflows.
• Knowledge of integrating websites with RESTful APIs, databases, third-party systems, or dynamic data services.
• Experience with responsive web design, cross-browser compatibility, and accessible development practices.
• Understanding of Section 508 and WCAG requirements.
• Experience diagnosing complex website issues, investigating defects, and supporting production operations.
• Experience using Git or another source control platform and working within Agile or Scrum teams.
• Ability to gather requirements and effectively communicate implementation options, risks, and recommended solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred: CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Preferred: IAAP accessibility certification, including CPACC, WAS, or CPWA, and/or DHS Trusted Tester certification.
• Preferred: Experience with Federal, DoD, or other regulated digital platforms and large-scale public-facing websites.
• Preferred: Experience with WordPress development in a Linux or LAMP environment.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Sass, NPM, Grunt, Gulp, or similar front-end build tools.
• Preferred: Experience with accessibility tools such as ANDI, axe, Lighthouse, or similar testing solutions.
• Preferred: Experience with screen reader, keyboard-only, and assistive technology testing.
• Preferred: Experience developing search functionalities, analytics integrations, interactive forms, calculators, or other custom features.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Angular, React, Vue.js, or TypeScript frameworks.
• Preferred: Basic knowledge of C#, .NET, Java, SQL, JSON, or other supporting application technologies.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS-hosted websites, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment automation, or DevSecOps delivery.
• Preferred: Experience with Drupal or another enterprise content management platform.
• Preferred: Involvement in website modernization, CMS migration, redesign, or platform upgrade initiatives.
• Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are advantageous.
